First Annual State of the Downtown

At the beginning of 2010, the Louisville Downtown Development Corporation began a benchmarking initiative to measure how Downtown Louisville compared to other Downtowns in the region.  In order to impartially gather this data, the LDDC hired Dr. Paul Coomes, professor of economics at the University of Louisville, to conduct a study measuring key indicators of urban health.  These indicators included job growth, salary averages, resident population, homeownership, and urban density.  A PowerPoint presentation used at the LDDC’s first annual ‘State of the Downtown’ event can be found below.  As supplemental benchmarking information becomes available it will also be provided.
